Shown here is my simple 30 gram chain tensioner system as well as the "Mr. T" chain tensioner that I designed. These simple and lightweight tensioning devices have prevented me from ever dropping a chain in well over 60,000 km of riding over the past 25 years - including probably more than 15,000 km of downhill riding and downhill mountain bike racing.

Also shown is David Flather's custom made rear shock linkage plates. I actually redesigned the rear suspension on all of my Norco downhill bikes to give them more travel via multiple additional lower shock mounting holes and by adding a longer travel shock to prevent me from breaking the Norco frames. Ever since I redesigned the rear suspension, I have not broken any of these Norco VPS frames in over 25 years!
